Requested move 9 May 2024[edit]

– "Perth City Council" is a colloquial and informal name, which is not in official use anywhere. The Local Government Act 1995 does not use the term "City Council" anywhere. Oppose Even if not officially used, "Perth City Council" is common enough and keeps it in style with Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane City Council election page names
The general style of an election page name is YEAR/Place/election type; this should apply for Perth too Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 10:17, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Other states are irrelevant. Each state has its own Local Government Act which is different to every other state. Other states have different naming conventions to Western Australia. Steelkamp (talk) 04:16, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure but there are plenty of examples of "Perth City Council" being used in election coverage from local WA media Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 04:18, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You will never see the City of Perth Council refer to itself as the "Perth City Council". In fact, no local council in Western Australia refers to itself as the "X City Council". The media does that because its a colloquial name. Steelkamp (talk) 04:21, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
